Case Study

In October 2010 we received plans for four T shaped fishing platforms designed by LDA Design Consulting LLP, who were commissioned by The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham to produce the plans for the regeneration of Barking Park.

Several large construction companies contacted us in the tendering process, which was eventually won by VINCI who also asked us to quote for installation. We contacted our installation partners ECS Engineering Services, who cut their teeth in Recycled Composite Profiles building an 11m span footbridge in National Trust beauty spot Hardcastle Crags.

Our technical team were able to achieve significant budget savings for the client, drawing upon their specialist experience of the physical and mechanical properties of the recycled composite profiles. The design was altered after much liaising between the architect, the quantity surveyor and the installer.  The final agreed design was nearly 50% cheaper in both labour and materials than the original concept.

Construction drawings and detailed guidance for the installation team was issued by the technical team.  Due to the shingle and flint ground conditions each post is set in 300mm concrete footings.

The fishing pegs are now completed, and I think you'll agree the result looks fantastic (click to enlarge picture)
